What is the difference between the compatible lamps and the OEM equivalent?

While both items will work for your television, the difference is who manufactures the bulb. The compatible lamps are an after market manufactured bulb, i.e. generic, while the OEM equivalent bulb is manufactured by Sylvania, which is a Phillips subsidiary.
