Answer

Connecting Stove Pipe to the Underside of a Chimney Stack
Vitreous enamel stove pipe is available in diameters from 4" (100mm) to 8" (200mm).

There is a component called a closure plate with spigot. It's a stainless steel plate 250mm x 250mm with a downwards facing spigot which fits into the vitreous enamel pipe. This plate is used to connect to the underside of the chimney stack when a chimney liner is not being installed. The spigot end is 190mm long and this allows for the stove pipe to be lifted, the stove to be put in place, and the stove pipe to be lowered back onto the spigot outlet of the stove. The joint between the stove pipe and the closure plate with spigot can then be sealed, preferably with ceramix. The plate itself is screwed into place (screws not supplied) and sealed with ceramix.
