Answer

How do I invite potential volunteers or participants?

At VolunteerSpot, we offer two easy ways for you to recruit volunteers and invite people to sign up for your activity.
1. Private: Enter email addresses directly into our simple planning wizard.

2. Shared Link: Paste a Sharable URL Sign up link anywhere to reach your volunteers and parents, and participants: in your own email message or email group (listserve), newsletter, Facebook page, Twitter, or on a website or blog. You can even paste a sign up button that looks like this:

InviteOptions

1. Private: Enter email addresses in our simple planning wizard
If you have a manageable list size, you may enter email addresses individually or quickly copy/paste them from another source like a spreadsheet, in batches of 50 at a time.  IMPORTANT:  DO NOT SEND PRIVATE INVITATION TO EMAIL GROUPS OR LISTSERVES.

After you have set up your activity, Click on the MyActivities Tab, open your activity and then choose Invite.  Enter email addresses; personalize your invitation message and click Send.

Note:  You may invite people from any previous activity using the pull-down menu, Add From Previous Activity. Any size group (even more than 50) will be added automatically.  If you add from multiple previous activities, emails listed in multiple other activities will only receive one invitation.

2. Shared: To paste a Sharable URL Sign Up link anywhere (in your own email message or email group (listserve), Facebook page, Twitter, or on a website or blog), please follow these steps:

After you have setup your activity, click the MyActivities tab, open your activity and choose Create a Link.

Just copy/paste the code/text when you wish to invite participants.  We've included a short paragraph of example text for you to customize and use in your email invitations or on your webpage.

NOTE: Anyone clicking a Sharable URL Sign Up Link may enter their email address and sign up for your activity -- it's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to screen and approve volunteers.

What happens next? When a volunteer clicks the Sharable URL Sign Up link, they are asked for their email addres and then taken directly to your sign up.

May I mix it up?
You bet! Please use any or all of the signup and recruiting methods that work best for your group.
