What is a widget?
A widget is like a mini version of your JustGiving page which you can use to spread the word about your fundraising.
It's made in JustGiving colours and shows how you're progressing towards your target, with a thermometer that moves.
You can put it on your personal website or blog, and ask friends and family to put it on theirs. When someone clicks on it, they'll go straight to your JustGiving page where they can make a donation.
What is a badge?
A badge is a simple button that links to your JustGiving page.
It doesn’t have as many features as the widget, but it's much more eye-catching than a text link to your page.
Unlike the widget, you can paste a badge into your email signature in Outlook, which is a great way to tell everyone you email about your fundraising. You can also use our badges on all sites where our widget doesn’t currently work.
How do I use them?
You need to copy the widget or badge's code and paste it into the code of your website, in the place where you want it to appear. The image will then show up on your website.
Where do they work?
You can put our widget on all blogs and personal websites. Unfortunately MySpace pages no longer take our widget and Bebo is currently a closed network so it won't show up there for now.
There's a whole separate app especially for Facebook users which you can add here: http://apps.facebook.com/justgiving.
How do I put a badge in my email signature?
First, copy our badge code, like this:
Then paste the badge code into your signature, like this:
You may not be able to do this on work email accounts if there are strict security settings or if you’re on a networked system like Citrix.
If you are using Outlook 2007, you won’t be able to add the badge to your signature, but you can add your JustGiving page address instead, like this.
